Artist Bio
Laura Laird is a magazine collage artist living in Pasadena, Maryland with her husband, their son, and their dogs, Sunshine and Charley. Laura holds an Associate of Arts degree in graphic design, which has proven useful in the business side of her art. Enlarged reproductions of her colorful collages hang in several children’s hospitals on the east coast, and her pieces have been commissioned by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation as well as clients from across the United States.
Since childhood I have created in countless mediums, but it was in 2013 that I finally found my artistic voice, in magazine collage. A 16 x 20 inch collage can take 30–40+ hours to create. The inspiration for my artwork comes from Mother Nature and all of her resplendent colors! Seascapes are a favorite, and through my collages I am transported back to the shell sprinkled shores of Sanibel Island, the familiar home waters of the Chesapeake Bay, and other beautiful landscapes I have explored.
